How can I enable customers to add an event to their calendar?

As a general practice, when you are sending email invites for an event you are hosting to your contacts, linking to an Internet Calendaring and Scheduling Core Object Specification file (.ICS file) will allow registrants to click and download the file and easily add your event to their event calendar. The file is a calendar file saved in a universal calendar format used by several email and calendar programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, and Apple Calendar.

We recommend including the .ICS file on the Confirmation email and/or Confirmation page that is part of your email marketing campaign. In the ZiftONE platform, there are two main areas where including an .ICS file will be helpful to your registrants:

  • If your supplier has given you access to a Create-Your-Own Event Campaign under Browse Campaigns, where you will invite your contact lists to an event you are hosting, you may have the option to add an .ICS file during the customization process.
  • If your supplier has given you access to Partner-Hosted Webex Events or Partner-Hosted Zoom Events under Browse Campaigns, you may have the option to add an .ICS file during the customization process.

You can create an .ICS file using your preferred calendar program (Outlook, iCalendar, Google Calendar). Once you have the file, you can upload it into the ZiftONE campaign types listed above.
