Contact Lists

Overview

Contact lists provide you a creative way of reaching out to your customers to let them know you understand their needs and have a solution that will meet their requirements.

A contact list is a group of individual contacts that represent an individual person or business with specific contact information such as name, address, city, state, and phone number. A contact's information can be updated over time as you learn more about your contact. The identifiers for contacts are the email address (required) or phone number (optional).

You may have more than one contact list. To view them, navigate to your Contact Lists page.

Partners and providers can share lists for activity execution.

  • Marketplace Providers can use contact lists when executing OBO partners without sharing those contacts with the partners.
    • The provider can use its own list when executing on behalf of a partner.
    • The provider can use partner-supplied contacts to execute on behalf of a partner.
    • The provider can use a combination of its and the partner's contacts to execute on behalf of a partner.

Before You Begin

  • Read Best Practice for Contact Listsbefore building your list.
  • It is important to note that if you add a contact with a phone number but no email address populated, an email address will be auto-created at the moment of contact creation.
  • Review your contact list before sending out marketing activities.
  • Ensure that contacts are opted in to receiving communications from you (or that opt-in is implied). For more information, see Manage Opt-In for Emails to Contacts.
