About Notifications

Administrative Permission Required

Administrative permission is required to access some portal settings. For more information, contact your supplier's point of contact.

Overview

A notification is an event-triggered email that will be sent to the user's email address. This alerts users to important changes or activity without requiring them to be constantly signed in. Certain functions generate notifications, for example new leads, updates to deals, activity on an agency/provider order (what is available depends on what features are provided in your portal).

The Notifications page of the portal settings allows users to view and modify notification settings:

  • View and edit notification settings - All users can manage their own notification settings
  • Manage the list of non-portal-based user email recipients - Admin users only

Go to  portal_settings_icon.png > Settings > Notifications (Admin users) or  portal_settings_icon.png > My Settings > Notifications (other users) to access the page.

Before You Begin

You should only add or modify notification settings with the recipient's permission.

We recommend that you whitelist the @email.unifyr.com domain, and your supplier's portal email address, to ensure that notifications are delivered.

Note

If your system is more mature, it may be sending from the @ziftsolutions.com domain. Reach out to your portal support team to clarify which addresses you should whitelist.

Notification Types

You can manage your opt-in/preferences for notifications generated by these types of activity:

  • Social Accounts Expiration (Admin users) - a connection to a social media account is due to expire, or has expired. The notification is sent to the partner administrators weekly, from about three weeks before the expiry date.
  • Supplier Emails - communications from your supplier, for example notification of new portal content
  • Marketing Funds Activity - updates to fund pre-approval requests or claims by your supplier
  • Social Content Approval - new social media content from your supplier is available for your review (if you have any social streams set to Requires Approval - for more information, see How to Manage your Social Feed). You can set the frequency of these notifications.

How to View and Edit Notifications

  1. Navigate to portal_settings_icon.png > Settings (Admin users) or  portal_settings_icon.png > My Settings (other users).
  2. Click Notifications in the left-hand sidebar, to view the current notification settings.
  3. [Optional] Specify which types of notification you will receive by choosing On for the Active setting.

  4. [Optional] Modify the frequency of notifications, where this option is available.

How to Add a Notification Recipient

If you're an Admin user, you can add a non-portal-based user recipient to the notification system. This is useful for keeping others in your organization informed about relevant events, if they don't have access to the partner portal.

Non-portal users will not be able to access any links to portal content in the notifications they receive.

  1. Navigate to  portal_settings_icon.pngSettings.
  2. Click Notifications in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Go to Other Recipients
  4. Enter a New Recipient Email Address in the text field and click Add.
  5. [Optional] Change the notification settings as appropriate.  By default, all notifications for a new recipient are off and they will not receive any communications until the notifications are enabled.
