About Onboarding

Some suppliers will provide you with guided onboarding plans. The plans are designed to help you in your journey as a partner. The plans will communicate what is expected and how you can meet those expectations.

The plans are made up of a set of tasks to be completed before moving to the next stage. They may be training-oriented or a way to help with contract compliance, to monitor activity, or to start running campaigns or registering leads/deals. The tasks will automatically be marked as complete when the task is completed. Once the tasks are completed you can move to the next task.

Onboarding plans support the needs of different partners: for example regional or industry-specific plans that deliver content to specific partner groups. The most common use of onboarding plans is to train new partners to work in the supplier's partner portal.

Like other elements of the ZiftONE platform, your onboarding plans will be closely aligned with the channel program objectives.

Your supplier can guide you to the location of your onboarding plan, advise on the tasks that need to be completed, and confirm the preferred timeframe for completion. For example, your supplier may have different tasks that they'd like you to complete in your first 30 days, 60 days and 90 days of participation in their program.

In this example of an onboarding plan, the supplier has provided three tasks for the partner to complete in their first 30 days in the program - review the partner company profile, complete the onboarding training course, and register their first deal. They've provided links to the pages in the portal in which the partner can carry out the activities.

When a task is complete, it's marked with a check in the plan. Completion is recognized in two ways, depending on the type of task:

  • Activities carried out in the partner portal, for example Review Company Profile or Register a Deal  - the task is automatically marked with a checkmark when it's been completed.
  • Activities external to the portal, for example Meet with your PAM - the supplier marks the task as complete once they've verified it's been done.

The supplier also has a record of how the partner is advancing through all the activities in their onboarding plan.
