About Onboarding

Some suppliers will provide you with guided onboarding plans. The plans are designed to help you in your journey as a partner. The plans will communicate what is expected and how you can meet those expectations.

The plans are made up of a set of tasks to be completed before moving to the next stage. Any task could be included - training-oriented goals, or a way to help with contract compliance, to monitor activity, or to start running campaigns or registering leads/deals.

The most common use of onboarding plans is to train new partners to work in the supplier's partner portal.

Like other elements of the portal, your onboarding plans will be closely aligned with your supplier's channel program objectives.

Your supplier can guide you to the location of your onboarding plan, advise on the tasks that need to be completed, and confirm the preferred timeframe for completion. For example, your supplier may have different tasks that they'd like you to complete in your first 30 days, 60 days and 90 days of participation in their program.

Note

Your supplier decides if Onboarding IQ is available in your portal. Reach out to them with questions about its availability.

Onboarding IQ is an onboarding progress tracker, which your supplier can enable to give you continuous recommendations, guidance, and encouragement until you’re ready to start working confidently toward productivity in your partner portal.

Onboarding IQ oversees your progress against your assigned Onboarding Plan:

  • Tracks progress automatically
  • Lets the user decide how they want to navigate their onboarding journey
  • Makes intelligent suggestions
  • Gives context on why a task is important
  • Celebrates task and milestone completion
  • Surfaces incomplete tasks
  • Sends personalized reminders when progress stalls

The proactive guidance from Onboarding IQ helps your users get up and running quickly, without having to rely on external assistance.

Viewing your plan in an Onboarding page

In this example of an onboarding plan, the supplier has provided three tasks for the partner to complete in their first 30 days in the program - review the partner company profile, complete the onboarding training course, and register their first deal. They've provided links to the pages in the portal in which the partner can carry out the activities.

When a task is complete, it's marked with a check in the plan.

Plan completion and progress tracking

The tasks in your onboarding plan will be marked as complete as you finish them. This happens automatically for a task you can carry out in the portal, for example Register your first 5 leads. For off-portal actions, for example Attend the X20 Introduction Event, your supplier can check the task off for you.

The supplier also has a record of how you are advancing through all the activities in your onboarding plan.
